The Sunset Palms School new construction project highlights Sol-A-Trol's engineering expertise in manufacturing premium, high-velocity hurricane zone compliant glazing systems for high-occupancy institutional facilities. Developed in partnership with Moss Construction and Harvard Jolly Architecture, this middle school facility required a durable perimeter envelope capable of resisting severe coastal weather conditions in Palm Beach County. The primary architectural layout integrates the Series 5000 Impact Window Wall system to establish expansive, day-lit facades alongside Series 3000 Impact Projected windows for safe, controlled fresh-air ventilation.

Fabricated entirely from high-strength 6063-T6 structural aluminum alloy, these heavy-wall framing profiles offer maximum protection against cyclic wind loading and large-missile impacts. The Series 5000 Window Wall allows the design team to eliminate heavy intermediate structural steel supports, providing continuous vertical glazing lines with minimal structural deflection. When closed, the multi-point sealing technology on the Series 3000 top-hinged projected units guarantees an airtight, water-tight perimeter, offering commercial contractors a straightforward installation sequence and school administrators long-term operational durability.
